Eye & Face Protection

Standards

WorkArma Eye and Face Protectors are manufactured and certified to AS/NZS 1337.1:2010 – Personal Eye Protection Part 1: Eye and Face Protectors for Occupational Applications. WorkArma Eye and Face Protectors are certified by SAI Global.

This standard ensures certified Eye and Face Protectors pass a series of laboratory tests, which demonstrate the required protection received from the Eye and Face Protector’s overall construction.

Impact Rating

Eye and Face Protectors can be certified under 4 core impact categories as stipulated in AS/NZS 1337.1:2010. They are rated following a test which is conducted using a 6mm diameter ball bearing. In order to be certified as one of the following, the Eye or Face Protector must remain intact following the test:

Low Impact: this type of Protector will protect the wearer from a projectile travelling at speeds of 13 metres per second or 47kph

Medium Impact: this type of Protector will protect the wearer from a projectile travelling at speeds of 45 metres per second or 162kph.

High Impact: this type of Protector will protect the wearer from a projectile travelling at speeds of 45 metres per second or 162kph.

Extra High Impact: this type of Protector will protect the wearer from a projectile travelling at speeds of 190 metres per second or 684kph.

Low Impact

Worn for 8 hours provides maximum protection

Medium Impact

Resists a 6mm ball at 45m/s

High Impact

Resists a 6mm ball at 120m/s

Extra High Impact

Resists a 6mm ball at 190m/

Clear

General purpose lens for indoor use, or outdoor use in low-light condition. Provides maximum light transmission.

Smoke

Most popular lens tint for outdoor use. Protects against visible glare without colour degradation. Good choice for outdoor work, such as construction and landscaping.

Blue Mirror

Superior glare reduction with heavy mirroring. Great lens for outdoor use in full sun conditions, favoured by outdoor workers such as roofers, landscapers and builders.

Polarised Smoke

Reduces intense sun glare reflected off shiny surfaces such as snow, water, sand and pavement. Improves contrast and depth perception. Great for outdoor use

Brown

Enhances perception in changing light and shadow. Good for low light conditions.
